Thoughts and such

I got to do something this evening that I usually don't get the chance to do, look at the moon. Of all the planets and things of being in the entire universe, the moon is quite possibly my favorite. It's our distant neighbor, that in the scheme of the universe, isn't very distant. It provides light, but not nearly as much as the sun. The moon isn't as aesthically pleasing as the sun is, which makes it all the more pleasing to me. The moon competes with more than the sun, it has thousands upon millions upon billions of stars to fight with to get your attention, whereas the sun only has itself. The moon is in a crowded sky, but it's not close to anything. The only friends the moon has are the ones who look up at it, and talk to it. The moon is always shining, whether we see it or not. Even if the sky is covered in clouds and birds and everything else, that moon will still be shining. It's almost a sign of faith and belief. I know, that even during an eclipse, or even if I were blind, that that moon would still be shining. Even when only part of it can be seen, I know the rest of it will come out in a while and show it's pretty moon-face to all of us. The moon is attainable, as it has been walked on many a time, this too makes it all the more a pleasing celestial being. The moon is also only present in the dark, as if it is afraid of the light. I sort of love the moon. Not because it is a gigantic rock zooming around our own planet, but because it is a big rock zooming around our planet that represents so many things. Thanks for being the moon, moon.
