The decentralization of America is coming. By definition, decentralization is the process of large, urban industries, being broken down into smaller ones. Example, Wal-mart, being broken down into your local country market. Now, as you may be asking, why would you that this is going to happen? Number one: Transportation. Modern day transportation is simply amazing, unfortunantly, it is going to come to a halt. The price of the fuel that we use, is not going to go down, probably, the other way. Number two: Large Corporations. One of the U.S.A.'s largest corporations, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., is showing tremendous revenue drops because of the rising gas prices. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is on of THE leading companies, for freight, "Semi-truck", transportation. This company is also designed on growth. A very faulty idea in the first place. These stores will continue to pop up in cities everywhere they can, after the profit-loss is too great, they will close stores that are not used as often, and lose that profit. The company will then no longer be able to buy products in such large quantities, as they will have no use, or ability to sell the items. Once they cease mass-buying from producers, the producers of these goods, will raise the rates, thus cutting wal-marts profits even more. Eventually killing the business. This company, along with many others, will not stay for too long. After the large corporations close down, people will revert to local markets and businesses. Number three: the strengthening of local communities. Small towns and villages will become closer together. This will likely be caused by several political factors, (one probably being the middle-east conflict), and the need to be independant.

As you may have noticed, all three of these tie together. Being unable to mass-transport products, will cause large corporations to shut down, and likely go bankrupt. With large businesses gone, communities will have to become independant. Lastly, with it becoming an increasing hastle, people will travel less. All of this is no more than a prediction, but it is a well thought-out prediction, by a man who's middle name is logic. Get close to your community, before our ends, we'll know them much much better.
